Radiesse Dermal Filler in 535 Miller Ave
Mill Valley, CA 94941

Radiesse is an FDA-approved dermal filler made of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. It restores lost facial contours with immediate volume, then goes a step further by stimulating your body to produce its own new collagen. At Aesthetic Dermatology And Skin Cancer, Inc., Radiesse is used to smooth deeper lines and rebuild structure in the cheeks, chin, jawline, and hands for natural, long-lasting results.

How Radiesse Works

When injected, Radiesse’s microspheres first act as a filler, providing immediate volume and fullness. Over time, the body absorbs the gel and leaves the microspheres behind, where they stimulate collagenesis, the production of new collagen around the treated area. As new collagen forms, the microspheres are gradually broken down and metabolized. There is little risk of the product migrating. Calcium hydroxylapatite is identical in composition to the mineral portion of bones and teeth.

Where Can Radiesse Be Used?

Radiesse is commonly used to:

  • Soften smile lines (nasolabial folds)
  • Smooth marionette lines
  • Restore lost contours in the cheeks and chin
  • Strengthen and define the jawline
  • Rejuvenate the backs of the hands as part of hand rejuvenation

Results last approximately one year, and collagen stimulation can help results look natural as they gradually soften.

Is Radiesse Safe?

Radiesse has been clinically tested for years with an excellent record of safety and effectiveness and is FDA approved. It is made from a biocompatible substance identical to what is naturally found in bones and teeth, it is free of human and animal byproducts, and the risk of allergic reaction is very low, so no skin test is needed before treatment.

Comfort and Recovery

A topical anesthetic can be applied to the skin, and we mix a small amount of local anesthetic directly into the product before injection to keep you comfortable. Side effects are few and typically include injection-related irritation, swelling, itching, discoloration, and tenderness that resolve within a few days. Most patients return to normal activities right away.

Radiesse and Other Injectables

Radiesse provides structural support, making it a great partner to hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane for finer areas, and to Dysport or Letybo for expression lines. For gradual, longer-lasting collagen building, you may also consider Sculptra Aesthetic. See before and after photos in our Radiesse gallery and explore all of our injectables.
